Senior Services - TRIP - Township Riders
Initiative Program
A transportation program in Northwest Suburban Cook County is now
available to residents of five area townships--
Elk Grove,
Hanover,
Palatine,
Schaumburg, and
Wheeling. This intertownship transportation for medical purposes program was
created to serve the needs of area senior citizens and persons with
disabilities. It is called TRIP, or Township Riders Initiative Program.
This program transports riders to medical appointments beyond their Township
borders, utilizing lift-equipped buses. TRIP is sponsored by the State of
Illinois Public Act 093-1004, Illinois Department of Transportation, and the
transit services are provided by PACE. This program was initiated by the
Northwest Regional Human Care Council and the Northwest Suburban Transportation
Consortium.
