Disability Transportation Services
The Disability Services Department can assist with various transportation programs for disabled persons. You must be a resident of Schaumburg Township 18 years of age or older and have proof of permanent disability. Please contact Disability Services for more information on transportation services.
Reduced Fare Program
The RTA Reduced Fare Program is available for qualified persons with a disability. Disability Services has RTA Reduced Fare applications available.
Benefit Access - People with Disabilities Ride Free
Benefit Access - People with Disabilities Ride Free is available to individuals with a disability meeting the income eligibility requirements for the Benefit Access Program. Rides would be free on all fixed-route regularly scheduled buses, trains and public transit systems.
Disability Services provides the RTA People with Disabilities Ride Free applications to applicants approved by the IL Dept. on Aging. If you are a first-time applicant for the People with Disabilties Ride Free Transit Card and would like to apply for the Ride Free Card, you will need to bring a government-issued picture I.D. that verifies your age. If you need your photo taken, you will be charged $1.00 for the photo. You may choose to bring in your own 2 x 2 passport photo. Township Riders Initiative Program (TRIP)
Township Riders Initiative Program (TRIP) is available to individuals with a disability for medical purposes only. Transportation service is provided by Pace within the boundaries of Barrington, Elk Grove, Hanover, Schaumburg, Palatine, and Wheeling Township.
