The Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP) will be at the Township on Tuesday, February 19th at 10 am to share information about how they can help maintain your independence.
The Township of Schaumburg will host AARP Foundation Tax-Aide services from February 4th – April 12th, 2019. This program offers free, individualized tax preparation for low to moderate income taxpayers. Appointments are required and can be made by calling the Township of Schaumburg Senior Services Department at (847) 285-4597 after January 28, 2019.
Medicare is issuing new cards to all beneficiaries. New cards are being distributed now. Call our senior or disability departments with any questions (847-884-0030).
In conjunction with PACE and surrounding Townships, the Township of Schaumburg offers low-cost rides to medical appointments for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Township Riders Initiative Program (TRIP) transports Township residents between Barrington, Elk Grove, Hanover, Maine, Schaumburg, Palatine and Wheeling Townships. Riders can also visit Stroger Cook County Hospital, Hines Veterans Hospital, Northwestern Hospital, Lovell Federal Healthcare, UIC Medical and Advocate Good Shepard.
One-way rides are $5.00 per township line crossed during a single trip with a maximum of $10.00 per one-way. Residents can register and schedule appointments with the Township Transportation Department by calling 847-882-1929. TRIP runs Monday – Friday 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 7:00 – 4:00 p.m.
