The Township of Schaumburg’s Mental Health Committee (MHC) will host Minds Matter, a mental health awareness fair, on May 7th, 2019 from 4-7pm at One Illinois Boulevard, Hoffman Estates. The free fair will feature agency booths representing social service, mental health and wellness organizations. Residents can learn about individual mental health and safety.

In conjunction with PACE and surrounding Townships, the Township of Schaumburg offers low-cost rides to medical appointments for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The Township Riders Initiative Program (TRIP) transports Township residents between Barrington, Elk Grove, Hanover, Maine, Schaumburg, Palatine and Wheeling Townships. Riders can also visit Stroger Cook County Hospital, Hines Veterans Hospital, Northwestern Hospital, Lovell Federal Healthcare, UIC Medical and Advocate Good Shepard on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
One-way rides are $5.00 per township line crossed during a single trip with a maximum of $10.00 per one-way. Residents can register and schedule appointments with the Township Transportation Department by calling 847-882-1929. TRIP runs Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 7:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m.
